I quit smoking three months ago.  “Oh, good for you!” I can hear you saying dear internets.  No – bad for me and my wasitline.  I haven’t really changed that dramatically because for some reason I lost a few pounds within the first few weeks of quiting, but I gained those back rather swiftly.  I had been trying to loose weight before quiting and saw this as just another detour on the road to “Sexy Mama” that took me back down the same road I had traveled when I graduated college and my butt found a nice, cushioned chair to spread out in.

So, I couldn’t figure out why I was eating low calorie food and not loosing a damn pound.  The answer came from a website a coworker referred me to called Calorie-Count.  I have to say, sitting in front of a computer all day was the culprit behind what I like to call muffin-top-bubble-butt syndrom so I was leary.  But it was genuis, using the enemy’s own sword to achieve victory.  As I logged the items I was sticking in my mouth I realized, it doesn’t matter if you work out all day every day if you are eating in excess of 3,000 calories worth of low calorie food!  This site not only allows you to track your calories, it analyzes the percentage of carbs and fat you are eating, and it suggests the ideal number of calories you need based on your activity level and weight loss goals.  It is a smart tool, when I said I wanted to go from Kirstie Alley to Nicole Ritchie in less that two months, the site mocked me and sent me home to find a better goal.  I reset my goal to ten pounds before June 1st, and the tool thinks I can do it… and I think I can do it too!
