I had the opportunity (you can either claw my eyes out now, or roll your eyes if you don’t care) to see Sex and the City: The Movie Tuesday night – yes four days before it hit the theaters and the same night of the New York premiere.  You can read my review at ToastedRav.com for my thoughts on the girls, all growed up.

I was thinking about movie hype while I was writing it.  When people tell me a movie is awesome, I enevitably come away disappointed.  I swear, I must be the only person in America who doesn’t like There’s Something About Mary for this very reason.  Everyone kept telling me how great the movie was so I think I was expecting dancing monkeys to come filling up the isles and tiny fairies to burst from the screen, because I walked out thinking I must have seen a different movie than everyone else, what – with the busted ear drum I can be a little deeeef in one ear and I often miss important things. 

So, I was worried when I was writing the review.  Sure, I loved the movie, but what happens when I go all telling people and they are disappointed because they were expecting designer shoes to rain from the heavens and to walk out model thin without the painful downtime of a medical proceedure.  But – I wrote it – and I loved it.

I am going to blow the lid off this thing and say I loved it so much that I am throwing a SATC cocktail party and seeing movie again tomorrow with a few of my favorite blogging girlfriends, and my favorite college girlfriends and I will be doing the same thing again on June 21st.  Ha!  Now, don’t let the handbags bursting from the theater doors hit ya on your way to the show.
