A change is coming to Girls Guide, readers, and you are the first only one to know about it. When I first started this humble blog at the end of 2006 I had in mind a place where women could come to find writing and conversation from local ladies who were funny, insightful, edgy and passionate about the topic they write about. I bought up a spiffy-shiny new domain name that I thought made sense and so was born Girls Guide to the Galaxy – labor pains were minimal, and no epidural was needed. When I asked around, most of my friends didn’t care to write for a blog because that was, and some would argue still is, a four-letter word and cursing is not cool. When everyone told me to eff-off (told ya cursing isn’t cool) I wrote a few posts here and then started up News-Bitch (except when the curse word is in your name) as a personal blog. 

**Time for a montage**

Time passed and I eventually made my way back over here because I wanted to, and it was my blog… so I did. During that montage sequence you would have seen me meeting a lot of St. Louis bloggers, helping to co-found the St. Louis Bloggers Guild and using Twitter… a lot. The time is here and Girls Guide has made a complete revolution in a spinning office chair.  Now we are going to stand-up really quickly and try to walk, well… actually Friday we are going to stand up very quickly and try to walk. I am blessed to have a great group of ladies who are funny, edgy and very creative who are willing to get their hands dirty with this here site and we are going to stumble around until we get it right. There will be stuff about fashion and style, sports and fitness, food and drinks, arts and crafts and music and events on this here site like there always has been, just all freshened up and pretty-like thanks to all the lovely women who are going to be writing here.
