Chicago me this, Chicago me that – they didn’t get 2012, but they might get ’16… what’s up with that?

Chicago definitely doesn’t have the best team in baseball, but they sure might become the center of summer sports spectacles if Chicago does end up getting the 2016 Olympic bid (just 52 days till we know the answer, according to the running countdown on their site… no they aren’t excited or anything). But the Arch patterns mowed into the grass for the All Star Game have barely grown out, so why doesn’t St. Louis cure it’s long raging Chicago envy and have it’s own Olympic celebration a’la the games captured in the video below? 

Just a thought… or if you don’t think that suits our taste there are always washer and hoosier golf competitions that aren’t getting their fair dues from the sports world at large.
