Laugh Your Cares Away! Worry’s For Another Day

No, that is not technically the Fraggle Rock theme song, but it sounds nice, doesn’t it? But, hey if you are soooooo smart, then how do you pronounce the word nuclear? Well, maybe I didn’t get you there, but if you are Gee Dubyah Bush or a fan of open mic stand-up comedy then it sounds something like “nucular“. If you have the evening free tomorrow (Wednesday, August 12) and can wrap your tongue around that bastardized pronunciation why not say it loud and proud, “I am going to tweetup/meetup/hang out at Nucular Comedy Night at Atomic Cowboy!”

Girls Guide and the always hilarious St. Louis gossip site, Punching Kitty, are hanging out at Atomic Cowboy tomorrow night to enjoy a night of laughs, drinks specials and to collect canned goods for Live Feed. We hope you guys can join us! Here are the details:

What: Raucous laughs at Nucular Comedy Open Mic Night with Craig Mayhem

Where: Atomic Cowboy, 4140 Manchester Road (in the Grove neighborhood)

When: Wednesday, August 12 at 7pm

The evening is free to all, there will be Miller drink specials, and if you have some extra cans lying around you can bring them to donate!

In addition to seeing four standup comedians, including one lady, you should also stop by to find out who won the t-shirt we are giving away in our Twitter background design contest (we are still accepting entries until midnight tonight if you want to email them to melody [at] girlsguidetothegalaxy [dot] com.

Being as I will volunteer for just about anything for a free t-shirt that’s all it would take to get me out the door, but if you need more… well, how about the fact that this is one of the last three events for Girls Guide this year? Still no dice? Then can I tempt you with the fact that our Arts Editor, Holly Schroeder, and our Food and Drink Editor, Robin, will be there representing Girls Guide. See, I knew I could find something to get you out the door! See you all there!
