My mom asked me if I wanted her to take us to the movies. I replied, "No mom, we'll just watch TGIF. Duh." Yep, I was cool. But seriously, it was the cool thing to do on Friday night! Sometimes I watch TV on Friday nights when I have to work the weekend and I would be overjoyed to spend some time with Eric Matthews (my #2 biggest 5th grade crush, second only to Leonardo DiCaprio)! I think I'm going to look into getting some of these shows on DVD......... I was a huge fan of TGIF as well...what about "Just the 10 of Us"? My favorite saying came from that show: "I may be dumb, but I'm not stupid!". Mike and I have made it a point to stay home more on weekends, so maybe we'll have to invest in some old school DVD sets. He already has Mad Men, but I'd be down for some Clarissa Explains it All. I did not have cable growing up (yes, I nkow, I was deprived), so when ever we went to my cousin's house I would just sit there and watch Nickelodeon ALL day! Guess my addiction started at a young age, huh? Really though, I would TOTALLY watch all these shows if they were still on. With Halloween right around the corner, I was at Walmart the other day and saw a DVD with five episodes of Are you afraid of the dark? for $5. I ALMOST gave in and bought it! Haha! Also, totally forgot about Dinosaurs and yes, I am a puppet lover...which sounds really creepy now that I'm reading it back to myself. But nonetheless, I will now be going to YouTube to look up Dinosaurs and laugh at the ridiculous TGIF programming I used to watch. Even 'tween' television is branching off now, though! Super weird. As an adult, now, I still wouldn't mind sitting down and watching TGIF and SNICK with my theoretical children, but I'm pretty sure my head would explode with too much kids-only programming such as the Disney Channel and Cartoon Network provide.
