I haven't had the chance to see it yet, but pretty much everything I'm hearing echoes that same sentiment. I heard people were upset and walking out with their kids halfway through, but I think they just didn't get that it wasn't a movie FOR kids; it was a movie ABOUT them. I think it looks amazing visually and sounds amazing too (already downloaded the music!), and even if the film isn't perfect, you have to admire Jonze for creating a fuill length movie out of a book with less than 400 words; for collaborating so closely with the author; and for insisting to the big studio execs that he wouldn't waiver from his vision. >”The film isn’t as much a child’s story as it is a story about being a child.”
