I did see it on Halloween in honor of the holiday! It is definitely worth the $10+ to see it in a theater because of 2 reasons. 1) With a packed theater, as mine was, you get an almost communal/fraternal feeling among everyone. When everyone jumps, gasps, and yes, screams, at the same time you don’t feel so silly at your own reactions and like too much of a scaredy cat! And 2) Most importantly, if you don’t see it in a theater, DON’T rent or buy it when it comes out on DVD and watch it at your own home. If I had watched it at home instead of the theater, I don’t think I would have been able to walk up my steps and sleep at night!

I saw Paranormal Activity over the weekend – unfortunately there was a group of 20 kids in front of us who felt it was appropriate to laugh when it got quiet. Totally blew the movie for everyone in the theater, otherwise I would have voted it pretty decent, and might have even gotten more scared!

Speaking of Facebook ads, due to my ‘single’ status, I’ve been getting sidebar ads recently that say “Want a boyfriend?” with a picture of some fabulously tanned and smiling hunk! And then I saw an ad the other day for Paranormal and said, “THANK YOU, Facebook! Please stop calling me out for being single and happy…for now!” Hahaha! And yes, I think this is a HUGE deal! I rarely see movies up there!

Anyways, I too, am a huge scaredy cat and want to see this movie so bad, but am worried that I will spend the following week asking my 15-year-old sister to have slumber parties with me every night so that I don’t fear for my life. The curiousity is killing me, though, so I might have to give in on this one… It’s just one of those times when I’m gonna have to suck it up and go…even if I do end up screaming out loud in a movie theater!

Oh, and…Pandorum. Hahaha! Nice!

AND just a note…
I just saw an ad for Paranormal Activity on Facebook. For a sidebar usually filled with match.com knock-off sites and American Apparel ads, it is kind of a big deal to see an ad for a movie!

All I know about the plot is that a couple thinks there is something spooky going on in their bedroom, so they set up a video camera to record them sleeping. I can only assume their suspicions are confirmed…

And if and when I go see this movie, I will FOR SURE follow up with you guys on how it went. But is there anyone else out there that can tell me if it is worth the $10?

(PS Since when did going to the movies get so expensive?!)

I hate scary movies too, but I’ve heard so much about this one! If I do get up enough courage to watch it (which is doubtful), it will have to be with someone who has already seen it so they can tell me when all the scary parts are coming. And a pillow to cover my face!
