In the beginning, there was a Bachelor. Followed by a Bachelorette. And it just got bigger (literally. More to Love, anyone?).
But the wonderful world of reality dating reached a whole new level when ‘celebrities’ were added into the mix…
The genre is often criticized, but you and I both know that on that on a rare (or not so rare) occasion, you just can’t help it. You are flipping through the channels, pause on VH1 (just til the first commercial…), and never look back. Next thing you know, you just watched a whole Saturday marathon of Daisy of Love.
Admit it, we love celebrity dating shows. We rock out on Bret Michael’s tour bus, we love New York, and nothing beats that Flavor of Love. For the Love of Ray J, we even spent some time in Hawaii this summer with Antonio Sabato Jr. on My Antonio. I took my Real Chance of Love, A Shot of Love with Tila Tequila, and even sampled the Double Shot. And When Megan wanted a millionaire, I watched (the whole three episodes that aired).
And now, one of the biggest reality ‘villians’ is getting in on the action.
It was announced yesterday that The Apprentice’s notorious Omarosa will be stepping out of the boardroom and into the bedroom, on Omarosa’s Ultimate Merger. And, naturally, she will getting a little help from her old boss.
Besides being filmed at Trump’s hotel in Vegas, the Donald will be on hand to offer love advice to his protege (you know, because he’s an expert and everything). The series will feature Omarosa choosing between 12 business-minded suitors and will air on TV One.
For one whole season, I was a loyal viewer of The Apprentice, and all of those ‘official’ lists of the best reality show villains do not lie – Omarosa is nasty. When she returned for the final challenge, and cost poor Kwame the win, I swore I would never forgive her.
But Executive Producer Robert Horowitz is hoping I change my mind.
“We do not want to bill her or portray her as a villain,” he said. “That’s not what this is. You will like Omarosa; you may not want her for your son or brother, but you will easily see where she has a lot of positives in her life. She’s a smart woman, and she knows what she needs to do.”
The chances of me watching this show are slim. First of all, I do not even know what channel TV One is, so that is a bit of a hindrance. And other than that, I just don’t really care for Trump and/or Omarosa.
I am, however, curious as to who these ‘busines-minded suitors’ are that are sitting around pining over this woman.
And that warrants watching at least until the first commercial break.

Hahaha. I agree. I would watch until the first commercial break just to see what this nonsense is about. But that’s as far as it goes. Omarosa was evil on the Apprentice and there’s no doubt in my mind that she still is evil…smart or not, this lady is crazy. But I guess everyone deserves to find love? …maybe? Lol. Oh and pS: My Antonio…what a guilty pleasure!!!
