TV & Movies Maven brings you the ‘Best of 2009′

It’s the end of the year, and as much as I try to resist, I can’t help but share with you my top TV and movie moments of the year.

So here they are, in no particular order: the 10 best movie moments, and the 15 best TV moments of 2009. (Because apparently I watch a lot more TV than I do movies. Perhaps I’ll have to work on that in 2010? I feel a New Year’s resolution coming on…)

10 Best Movie Moments of 2009:

Adventureland: Thus started my love affair with Jesse Eisenberg.

Zombieland: Thus continuing my love affair with Jesse Eisenberg (anyone else think its weird his two biggest movies are called Adventureland and Zombieland?). Plus, the cameo in Zombieland, and the fact that they kept it a secret (unlike Mike Tyson’s in The Hangover), made the whole movie that much better.

The trailers for Anvil! The Story of Anvil (And no, I haven’t seen the actual movie… but the trailers are great!)

Sandra Bullock dancing around the fire in The Proposal.

Star Trek. I’ll admit, I didn’t actually love the movie. But I do love Chris Pine.

GI Joe being a way better movie than I ever expected.

All of the great buzz for Clooney’s filmed-in-Saint Louis Up in the Air. I guess Lambert Airport is good for something, huh?

The Hangover making the ultimate bromance movie.  Rudd and his boys have been making bro-love comedies for the last couple of years, but The Hangover’s wolf pack gave us male friendship at its finest. Even in the most unbelievable situations these guys seemed so real. And so funny.

Grassroots marketing for District 9 and Paranormal Activity. Twitter may have killed Bruno, but word of ‘mouse’ made these movies hits long before you ever saw a trailer on TV.

Disney getting animated with The Princess and the Frog: If you read this blog, you know how happy I am about this. Up was great and all, but nothing beats singing amphibians.

15 Best TV Moments of 2009:

Everything about Glee. Signing and singing ‘Imagine,’ Kurt teaching the football team the ‘Single Ladies’ dance, all of Emma’s outfits, anything that comes out of Sue Sylvester’s mouth. This show rocks.

Mad Men’s stellar season.  The whole world (well, at least a few million of us) held our breath as Don confessed his past to Betty. And we gasped when the British guy’s foot was ran over by the John Deeere (so that’s why you shouldn’t drink and operate heavy machinery).

Realizing that George was John Doe on the Grey’s Anatomy season finale.

Dexter finale. ‘Nuff said.

Awards’ shows getting back on track. With hosts like Hugh Jackman (Oscars) and Neil Patrick Harris (Emmys), I actually tuned in for the whole broadcast and wasn’t bored out of my mind. And with Ricky Gervais hosting the Golden Globes, the streak should continue.

Lost confusing me, and the rest of the world, more than ever. Is Ben good? Is he bad? If Locke is dead, who is that guy? And, ew, why is Sawyer kissing Juliet?

The love pentagon on MTV’s The Ruins. Johanna, Wes, Kenny, KellyAnne, Cohutta… MTV wins the reality wars because of ‘plotlines’ like this one. Even the best writers couldn’t come up with this stuff.

Jersey Shore. Again, even the best writers couldn’t come up with this stuff.

Kristin Chenoweth winning an Emmy for Pushing Daises (RIP Pie Hole).

Abed and Troy’s skits in the ending credits of Community.

Casey and Cappie finally getting together on Greek (and Rusty breaking up with Jordan, leaving him free to date me).

Jason Stackhouse in pure Rambo-mode, saving Bon Temps from the evil MaryAnne on True Blood.

Kanye stealing the mic from Taylor Swift at the VMAs. Someday, we will all look back and laugh (trust me, I already do).

Ken Burn’s National Parks on PBS keeping me entertained, and educated, this summer. Thanks, Ken.

Dan’s donor heart getting eaten by a dog. This could only happen on a show as crazy as One Tree Hill.

So, there you have it. Thirty of my favorite moments from the past year. Can’t wait to see what goodies 2010 brings my way! Happy New Year!

haha WOW, my bad. You are right.. there are only 25 items here. I obviously can’t add!

Maybe it is becuase my TV list was originally going to be 20 instead of 15, but I thought that was a little obnoxious and I cut it down. Ah well, I’m a writer, not a mathematician!
